After the Breakup

I feel like someone
pushed me to the ground
rubbed dirt in my eyes
and kicked me in the gut

My eyes have never been so dried out
my stomach feels like a rock
and the lump in my throat won't leave
no matter how hard I swallow

But through the teary eyes
and the shaky breaths
I'm finding my way to the sun
and someday soon
this pain will be a memory
