Seasons of Love

by robin milford   May 18, 2008

We met on a summer day
the fire in your eyes
matched the blazing sun

Many moons have passed
since that balmy day
Seasons have changed
and with it our love

Autumn brings crumbing leaves
like these leaves my heart crumbles
to see our love die

It's winter and snow flies
extinguishing the last bit of fire
from your eyes

With spring comes flower blossoms
I am not fool enough to hope
that with it so will your love

I love this poem! You used an incredible selection of words and imagery in this. Ugh, Love it

I think there is a typo in the title

Is it supposed to be "The Hottest Love Has the Coldest End?

    Also, a possible suggestion:

    It's winter and snow flies
    extinguishing the last
    little bit of fire
    from your eyes

I think it might be a better idea to say

    It's winter and snow flies
extinguishing the last bit of fire
    from your eyes

It keeps the pattern of the rest of the poem and flows better in my opinion.

    Loved it!
