Endings, Implosions, and Mellow Eyes

by StandStill   May 19, 2008

When did these rose-colored glasses
tint to a too-dark grey?
Since when do stars disappear at night,
yet they glitter in the day?

Incompleteness is threatening
an implosion within her chest,
fingers shaking in computer's cold light,
she's no better than the rest

Uses too-simple words to express
these fuzzy thoughts floating in the air,
she doesn't know how to verbalize,
and she'll claim she doesn't care

Isolates herself into sleep
a silent cavern unto itself
hiding behind a lovely mask
swears she doesn't need the help

Mellow eyes stare at a blank screen
she doesn't really know what to write
incapable of beginnings, middles, endings,
just another wasted night
