Gambling With Life

by Soulful Ensemble   May 19, 2008

The soldier screams," I love life!"
While putting on his death device.
He knows he's killed twice
But he's gonna roll the dice.

The wife and kids at home will pay the price
For the massacre of fun thats been deviced.
And the government sends a check once or twice
And then sit back, pretending it'll suffice.

Babies growing up without mothers,
Homeless men in the street with others
Who have all fallen without lovers
And nobody cares to feed each other.

The marching never ceases
And the killing never pleases
Everything's shred to pieces
As morale only decreases.

Meanwhile, the wandering man asks,
"When will it all just pass?"
But everybody stares and laughs
Thinking he should've stayed in class.

And now everybody's wondering at the seems
With no shoes on, just trying to clean
At the mossy ruins that are not dreams
But reality's nightmare now convened.
