These Have I Loved

by Sam   May 19, 2008

These have I loved...
The way the sun falls on my face
While I lay in bed and it starts to rise,
And the colors it turns...yellow, red,
Orange, and pink as it ascends slowly into the sky.
Eyes that have the grace to see;
Hands to touch and feel and know.
A nose to smell, a mouth to speak,
Two ears to hear God's creation around me.
To run through fields, to lie in grass,
To let the ocean lap my toes,
To feel the warm sand beneath my feet
To bask in the beauty of God's creation He has shown.
The pleasure found in reading books
And sitting by a glowing fire
Reminiscing of years gone by,
And daydreaming for hours without a care.
A walk in the woods and smell that comes with it,
That smell of the fresh leaves that are just now in bloom.
Or when, in the fall, all the leaves dry and crack
Its woodland beauty and autumn hue.
To sing a song, to laugh aloud,
To give someone a kiss or hug.
To whisper in one's ear, "I love you,"
And the overwhelming joy when you hear it whispered back...
Yes, all these have I loved.
