Daydreams

by Sam   May 19, 2008

Each idle moment of the day
When all is calm and still,
She sits and thinks of her true love--
His eyes her mind's eye fill.

Though he has never held her
In a tight and warm embrace,
She loyally waits for the day
She'll see him face to face.

Though sometimes she is tempted
To mourn that he's so far,
She knows patience bears rewards
And how precious they are.

She continues to stay close to God
Delighting herself in the Lord;
Soon He'll grant the desires of her heart
Which no riches could e'er afford.

She does not wish for trivial things
As some girls nowadays,
But dreams of him along her side
That in his eyes she may gaze.

Although they live so far apart
Their hearts are very close,
And as they draw nigh to the Lord
They know what matters most.

Christ fulfills His purpose;
He orchestrates His plan
And only in His perfect timing
Will she meet her godly man.

She prays yet knows that she must wait,
Her faith in God renewed...
And muses on the knowledge that
He's waiting for her, too.
