Waiting - such torture should
Never have to be endured; would
One e're /choose/ to live
In the unknown? To give
Up everything he has and take
That trembling, hesitant step of faith
When life's decisions he must make?
Of who to love and who to trust:
Such decisions /are/ a must
When as he grows,
Those he knows
Will drift to the side,
Wrong him and hide,
Or loyally abide.
Yet still more choices flow his way
And force him to choose every day
Between "that" and "this,"
To "go for" or "miss"
The opportunities he's bestowed;
Visitations he has owed;
A chance to lighten someone's load.
Now a senior, more options evolve
And once heart interests have dissolved.
Looking now for something more,
Knowing now what is in store,
He lives his life just day-to-day
Praying God will lead the way
And that from His will he won't stray.
Of many dreams there have been revisions,
The same stands for some of his decisions
About the future of his life
(This could cause him so much strife).
But there is one who surely knows
Whate'er he does, Where'er he goes,
She'll continue to pray for and love him so.
