Perfection Is Just Perfect Apathy

by Curing the Comon Cliche   May 20, 2008

Scrawl out another poem
Dear Reader, don't you see?
Heads and hearts collide
Agree to disagree

Scrawl out another stanza
Dear Reader, don't you hear?
If you play the love songs loud enough
You might just disappear

Do you like your poems bitter?
Do you like your poems sweet?
I-love-yous that are only half true?
Counting cracks in hearts and in concrete

Scrawl out another poem
Dear Reader, don't you see
Some times all perfection is
Only perfect apathy

ap·a·thy
1. absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement.
2. lack of interest in or concern for things that others find moving or exciting.
(sound familiar)
