SINCE SHE SAID GOODBYE

by Jim McMillen the man within   May 20, 2008

MAY 1989/ POEM # 12

How many days
Must I mend my heart?
With each new day,
It tears farther apart.

How many nights
Will I be alone in my life?
While I try to (SURVIVE)
The loss of my wife.

How many weeks
Will I continue to cry?
Every (TIME)
I watch her go by.

How many months
Will I wait for my lover?
While she goes through life,
Enjoying another.

How many years
Before I die?
Trying to live without her
Since she said goodbye!
