Shatterd

by Kaitlin   May 21, 2008

A fragile ornament dropped to the floor
shattered into pieces of hope and despair,
hatred and love, truth and lies.
swept up and pieced back together
in a shimmering shape of gossamer hope
more delicate and fragile than before
with many fractures of distrust and pain
etched in its surface to be shown evermore
tiny veins of want and need, running through to its core
so step softly so you don't shatter it again.
