Silence ((Angels are a memory))

by StandStill   May 22, 2008

Blank stares to a marble wall
boring holes into the silence
redemptive failures around the corner
and the angels go unspeaking

Bloody, gauged hearts break
shatter, glittering on the pavement of a chest
telephones scream through the silence
and still the angesl are unheard

Invisibility is pertinent
ever clear on copper lips
thump thump gushes the dying heart
as the angels fly further away

A final scream in the chaos
black animal euphoria beading the silence
like dew, to fade but ne'er to be forgotten
angels are no more than a memory

Silence.
