The Blood Of Love

by Shalkan   May 22, 2008

I sit here in my reverie, silent elapse of time
binging on your memories, remnants left of mine
my lips quiver at thought of you, i want your skin by me
but nothing here can bring you back, i purge into the sea

fate's replacing our sweet shadows, the sun forever broken
wild gaze and frenzied craze, your word forever my token
my body swells with salty tears, eyes too wounded to cry
I've come to realize all my fears, ones i didn't recognize

my hands still shake when i read your letters, ice glazes my heart. no kind words will make loss better, somehow i must learn to part. My eyes so heavy, head falls down, my countenance is flushed. My smile is usurped by my frown, my final words are rushed

I dream of you and silver rain, tempting death still near
only now i know you shared my pain, the same ship you did steer. The queen of all love's cruelty, knocking at my door, i answer her quite gruelingly, as i did before

The blood of love pools in my heart, capsizing all my ships
i know now i shall never start, and poison i shall sip
i sit here in my reverie, my broken body bruised
God knows my severity, and my lip still quivers at thought of you
