Melancholy Eyes

by Lost and Delirious   May 22, 2008

Two girls were walking down the hallway at school with their arms around each other, and the darker brunette resting her head on the taller one's shoulder when she muttered, "Sometimes I just want to kill myself."
At that, the taller one floundered out of her friends grasp, turned on her heel, and stomped in the opposite direction,
"Hey, I was kidding . . .I didn't mean it, baby. Come back over here!" the darker brunette spoke indignantly as she reached out fer her companion.
"Since you're gonna be dead, I better get used to being away from you now," breathed the taller one.
Suddenly, the darker brunette dropped all her books and stared towards the taller one with deep, watering, melancholy eyes. "I, but, I . . ." she stammered.
The taller one remained apathetically unphased and kept walking.
"Hey! Baby, don't . . ." the darker brunette's quavering voice echoed silently.
"For the last ti-" the taller one's voice was cut short by what she heard behind her. Behind her, she saw the love of her life, the glass heart shattering before her. She had promised the darker brunette never to let her heart fall, to always keep it held high. Where it would flourish and sparkle in the moonlight.
The taller one dropped her books with a passionate thud and ran to her love, enveloping her in a warm embrace, never to let go again. "Baby, I love you so much. I promise never ever to do that to you. I love you, honestly."
The darker brunette's tear stained gaze met the other's. "I still love you too. Nothing will ever change that, nothing. But I won't change for anyone except myself. You need to accept me for me."
The taller one sobbed, "Yes, of course I will. You are everything to me."
Glancing from beneath their somberness, they both smile and kissed, a long, meaningful kiss. A kiss like no other. A kiss the most beautiful angels in heaven couldn't have drammed of.
They gathered their books and, holding hands, walked to class.

*this was something my x-gf wrote for me when we were still going out...so I decided to keep it, lol*
