Alice II

by Dacey Flame   May 22, 2008

You have a fearful existence.
You're quick, but they never see it.
You're alert, but they're never looking.
You're awake, but they always need sleep.
You pace and paint and scribble nonsense.
Anonymous words to an anonymous face.
No courage. You're bravery is false lived.
Every phase that slides from your wet lips is
Packed with everything but what we need to hear.
We ask and only you can deny us.
Spit in the face of our model citizen.
Puke on the shoes of our exact existence.
Hell, you're scared.
Fight for the need that's yours to keep your eyes open.
Deny yourself basic needs for tomorrow.
Tomorrow is brighter, bigger, deeper.
Tomorrow you will understand us.
But tonight go ahead and lie awake
Be sure we know of your ploy
Be sure we know you're watching
Be waiting for our signs.
