You are my Summer in Winter

by Orchid Man   May 22, 2008

Sweetheart, the coldness of the winter season has arrived
The warmth of summer and autumn has retired to rest their weariness
Days have become shorter while nights extend long arms of dreariness
Blue skies are being replaced by days of dark clouds and the tears of rain.

As I look to the sky; it is filled with armies of differing birds.......
....each one seeking the sun and warmth of a far-off pre-destined homeland
Other animals seek new ground to sleep throughout this bleak and freezing winter
Most trees and flowers have shed their coats of the finest colours of nature.

The garden itself seems to have thrown a huge blanket over its remaining greenery
Patches of frost or snow decorate it with dense coatings of clinging white plumage
Yes Orchid Lady; winter has arrived; nature is preparing itself to greet us next springtime
Yet, throughout this starkness the summer warmth in you remains to nurture our love.

Without you there would be no seasons - my life would see no changes to each day
My love, you are my spring and summer, bringing me warmth through autumn and winter
I need you to experience the joy of your love and witness the bliss of your understanding
You alone are my eternal best friend; lover and my greatest gift from Heaven above.

As you wander through the house I hear you singing softly to yourself with your haunting voice
It is as though the darkening day clings to its remaining light to listen to your happiness.......
....while the ever-approaching darkness also hurries to cast its ears upon your singing
In moments such as these I realise my life would be nothing without your unique preciousness.

Orchid Lady of my every dream; with you my life is filled with the understanding of love
Should the torment of winter hurl a raging blizzard down upon us - let it do its ugliest worst.......
....for you and I share the warmth of togetherness, free from the elements' wraths
Yes my love, you are my summer in winter and I am so blessed to share my life with you.
