Sleeping with Thoughts of You

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   May 24, 2008

I sleep these nights
and dream these days.
Ignore the fights
and stupid ways.

I try to live
and to receive.
I try to give
and to believe.

I make it, here, day by day.
Yeah, I make it here with you.
When you're gone I find a way.
Oh, I really wish you knew.

You give me life and let it play,
like the CD in the stereo.
You stop to visit, then you stay.
We dance to the music, let it flow.

Knock three times, but I'm not there.
I'm lost somewhere in my mind.
Locked into your dreamy stare.
It was rude, but you're so kind.

Put your hands around my waist
and pull me close to your chest.
All the scary monsters chased
Somewhere in your arms: the best.

You kiss me here and take me there.
Please, just tell me how you feel.
I feel your hands you smell my hair
and then my warm heart you steal.

I heard you once without a word
and you showed me without eyes.
I listened though nothing was heard.
Opened up, still in disguise.

I sleep these nights
and dream these days.
Ignore the fights
and stupid ways.

I try to live
and to receive.
I try to give
and to believe.

This is just beautiful. I have fallen in love with your love poetry. It is just so awesome and you express your feelings so clear and well, and sometimes it's difficult to actually put on paper exactly how you feel. But, you did that great here. Um... I love the little part of repititon at the beginning and then you used the same lines at the end. That was excellent. The rhyming was just as amazing as the poem was itself. I looooved this piece. Oh, and by the way... You kind of made a error in your title. lol. Maybe you should switch that. :] I love love. Haha. It's something that is so easy to express. It's a easy topic. It's overrated, and so many people write about it, but you do a excellent job. This piece left me speechless. Excellent. 5/5.
