Simple Days

by Cynthia Wang   May 24, 2008

I still remember those days
I could just run 'round the house
out of breath yet full of laughter,
when I was still learning 1 plus 1
or 3 times 1 equals 3.
When my parents were perfect
and my sisters were goddesses...
The time I didn't know the difference
between crocodiles and alligators,
nobody my age cared about fashion
or the clothes I wore,
when not getting a lollipop was unjust...
Or the days I didn't have to worry
about a job or pocket money,
trustworthy friends or suspicious boys
those days I didn't have to think
beyond what my tiny brain could think...
Those simple days,
oh where did they go?
