Your Eyes

by Paralyzed   May 24, 2008

I remember those blue-green pools,
So fierce, yet tranquil,
Perfect for drowning,
A smile forever on the lips.

In these depths,
Words were not needed,
A thought, a feeling,
So easily read and absorbed.

I remember the day I saw nothing,
No dark, no light,
Just an abyss of emptiness,
No words were needed then either.

They still haunt me,
Your eyes,
Those ghostly pools that held everything,
Then nothing.

I wonder if you have seen that emptiness,
If those eyes still haunt you,
If the colour lay as vibrant in your memories,
As it does mine.

Wow, the image of those eyes is still burned into my mind. your descriptions were amazing.

    "They still haunt me,
    Your eyes,
Those ghostly pools that held everything,
    Then nothing."

that would be very sad to see, someone who's eyes held so much in them and then they were suddenly empty. i can see how it would be haunting.

    excellent job.
