The Poison

by Tyler Durden   May 24, 2008

So this is my note I'm sending you.
Its the last I'll ever send you.
The words, are poison,
Killing me as I write them.

So What you see here
Is the undoing of a soul.
My soul is unwrapping.
While barbed wire wound
around my heart.
Imagine your there, imagine your me.

He stands high, chin up, eyes forward.
So he can see the world laughing at him.
Pride and Honor, eyes blazing.
Dignity shattered on the floor.
Humiliation made me human.

Tenses his body, in fear.
Anticipation, suspense.
Just one step was all it took.
And then everything was flying past,
his childhood, his life,
his parents, his wife.
Sadness, is inhuman.
He was remembering everything.
Faster, faster, flashing in front of him.
Tumbling feelings in his stomach.
Remembers love.

Ahhh, the suns shining,
He feels better, the warmth.
coursing through him,
like the poison before,
warming his heart.
Happiness, returned.
And she is there.

Her arms wide open,
everything is rushing faster.
like he's running.
Euphoria.
He's almost flying into her arms.
He's there, he can feel her,
her soul, smell her scent,
so sweet.
she's saying,
I'm sorry we argued,
I love you.

But in a second, she's gone.
Just a trick. Deceit,
Just like her, only human.
Anger now. Nothing.
Faster, faster, Blurring.
So, so cold.

The ground came up to meet him so fast.
Its like he was still. Stuck in nothing.

His final thought,
I hope I'm at peace,
and I cant believe,
this expanding, black stretch of tarmac,
that is the skin of this world,
Is my freedom.

Darkness.
Sleep forever.

I hope you know that i love you. That nothing could change that. I'm here. Always.
I really, truly, with all my heart love you.
