The forbidden love

by Ramblings of an ageing Kid   May 24, 2008

Underneath the weight of life
Her strife for truth had begun
She opened her eyes on unjust
On a land all ruled by guns

Her heart is filled with fright
Her face is covered with a veil
All what she sees is a wicked fight
Between the truth and all what is real

Her heart pounds with fury and rage
She silently cries an ocean of tears
In her struggle to shatter the cage
Break away from the system of fear

I have been seeing her grow stronger
Captivating all my senses of sanity
A gaze into her seductive eyes
Is a new dimension of divine serenity

"Am I in love?" whispered my heart
How can she feel my yearning?
Trapped, enslaved, and torn apart
In a fire of shame she is burning

"Wait, can you hear those whispers?"
Wondered my heart in despair
Whispers of agony, moans of pain
More than what a human can bear

Deep inside there lies a word of love
Denied by a wall of steel
Held back by shame crafted by man
To deviously feed his greed

Though no one can see your angelic face
I have it pictured deep inside
Give me your hand, together we stand
Together we shall win the fight

Interesting poem, great rythmn and feels real-too, not many poems have this type of tension. Is it based on real experience?
