Rain in summer

* I wrote this for a Literature assignment in the ninth grade, now I have graduated and I found it in an old notebook so I posted it.*

"Rain in Summer"

I woke one bright and sunny morning,
I saw no rain clouds in the sky.
I saw no need to take a warning,
I just knew that it'd stay dry.

Thinking I could tell the things to come,
I thought I'd go and have some fun,
Boy, God sure got me for that one,
He showed me that i was dumb.

He conjured up a storm instead,
The wind was blowing, fast and strong,
It was because of my Big head,
This summer day had just gone wrong.

Then He made it much more calm,
Once I saw I had no power,
For he holds life, within His palm,
Each day, each second, each hour.

When you see no rain in summer,
Do not think it will not be.
Because your day might be a bummer,
When a storm you start to see.

Do not think it will not rain,
Do not think it will not hail.
I suggest you use your brain,
If you don't your plans could fail.

Talk with God when you wake up,
If you don't like the rain,
And ask Him not to send a cup,
Of that cold and sloppy stain.

Today I look out in the sky,
I see that God has kept it plain,
Because I asked Him "Keep it dry",
I think that's why He clogged His drain.

So when you see a sunny day,
Do not plan to go and play.
Remember God controls the day,
And He can take that sun away.
