Poem to Alaia

by Sean Allen   May 28, 2004

I went to bed late last night
with you still on my mind.
I had been stressed out all day,
broken by the daily grind.

I woke up the next morning
with your face still hanging there.
The thought of you being far away
was a bit too much to bear.

It might be too much to ask,
But I need you to be around.
You are my pillar of strength;
you keep me from hitting the ground.

Sometimes I may make mistakes,
and sometimes you think it's not true,
but no matter what happens to us
I will always love you.

    Okay, wow. I know I'm suppose to offer some construtive criticism, but i don't know what to say. This poem is great and it's for Alaia! You even broke away from your usual flow and made it rhyme. Good job.
