An unexpected change

by A person   May 25, 2008

It happened not so long ago,
On a day filled with snow.
Innocently praying at a grave,
she then became a slave.

Stripped and abused,
while her predator mused.
When he finished he passed her on,
She was then used from dawn to dawn.

For eight years this occurred,
her innocence blurred.
She lived the life of a prostitute,
but never frowned.

A mind full of morbid thoughts,
a soul that deserved to rot.
A body like an angel,
a heart of a devil.

The girl who smiled alone,
her life was not her own.
Sold on the street,
someone else's treat.

She did this all to live,
doing acts no one can forgive.
Smiling on the outside,
dying on the inside.

Until one faithful day she found a girl,
around the age of ten.
She took her in,
and the remembered what happened back then.

This very girl in front of her had the same eyes,
full of innocence and grace.
From then on the prostitute became a mother
