Mother Natures' Cold Hand

by Soulful Ensemble   May 25, 2008

Change your mind please
You've got me weak in the knees.
I left here with a smile
But I've had to frown awhile.

The music box's been quietly dying
Amid the jungle noises that rise all around.
Where the rooster wishes for easy flying
Because he always falls and hits the ground.

And the owl that used to fly now can't
He sits perched like a plant.
While the jealous bear looks high
And the wingless eagle tries to cry.

The crocodile comes out of the lake
To find a lonesome bear cave,
Where he can eat all the young
Who just can't last there very long.

So don't bring me to the jungle
And ask me why I seem to mumble
While death's shadow speaks of cruelty
And makes us just one more casualty.

And don't say the zoo is fine
It's just as cold and vile.
It doesn't get away from guile
And Mother Nature's unfair trial,
Where the cold hand smiles.
