Tears of the night

by Shalkan   May 27, 2008

Tears of the night soak my satin sheets
as the shallow weeping pool in my heart grows still
My hands tremble softly as i light this chamber
with the fire of my heart that continues to burn

though you've long since parted ways
with the paleness of my sinking ship
exchanged lamentations die in this graveyard
of ever-limber love and his fleeting path

His stealthy smile and withered limbs
beguiled me so mysteriously
and watery eyes that have seen too much death
grow blind to love's technicalities

we've waded in the stagnant marshland of defeat
and inhaled the product of failed passion
but you split paths and found the undergrowth slain
while disbelief swallows me, and i continue to bleed

maybe one golden age in the prestige of youth
we can lie together in satin sheets once more
and words of love will escape with my breath
until then, my wounds will fester with longing for you.
