I Wish I was Somebody Else & I Can't Remember Why

I wish I was somebody else,
I can't remember why,
Thinking about it all,
I wish I could want to try,
All I know is that it's been a long time,
A long wait,
A long hatred.
To hate oneself you think it would be clear,
But to me it's not,
To think about it is the very thing I fear,
and all I have left is a broken heart and a broken mind.
Thrown the towel in so many times,
Keep giving in and once again starting to try,
But why can't I see things won't get any better?
I wish I was somebody else,
I wish I would remember!
But as the days slowly go past,
And the nights continue to fall,
I'm left in the pitch black,
still thinking,
about it all....
Wishing that I was someone,
Something I myself would have the capability to cherish.
