I've been telling lies ((you're welcome))

by StandStill   May 27, 2008

I've been telling lies to protect myself,
I've been spinning tales to save you,
Please, don't take offence from this,
Simply, I care, that's why I do the things I do

I cared enough not to slip quite yet,
I cared enough to cry sweet tears,
I cared enough to hide from you
all these bitter bitter fears

I promise you a million things,
and I swear, I mean each one...
sweetness is a poison unto itself...
poisoning myself? sounds fun..

Darling, don't play this blame game,
my mask of lies slips e'er further down
I know all you want to see is me being strong,
so for you, I'll fake a smile, hide a frown
