We're Not Wasting Time

by brie kelly wise   May 27, 2008

Electrified by the thunder outside my window
If you're thinking about me, I'll never know
I caress your skin and take hold of your hand
If I mess up on this, I hope you'll understand
So if I wrap my teeth around this trauma
Can I take a small rain check on this potential drama
You know I'm just scared but it's more than that
I'm afraid that if I think too much, I won't relax
But your smile is amazing boy, keep it coming
Your tender touch is what keeps me from running
I tell myself this feeling is all just in my head
The thought of me crying, you on my bed
You whispered that everything will be okay
That all I had to do was pray
Time grows hard on people and we start to hurt
So why should I take this when I've learned
I took a deep breathe and wondered where you came from
And if all you had to offer was plain sighted love
Trouble was I was in my own little home
So if I wanted to run, I would never be alone
If I were to walk out tonight, would you come back again
You smiled and said don't worry, I have your hand
If you're not ready don't spend your time searching for words
We're not wasting time when we have the whole world
