I Know It's Not Fair

by Independence Forever   May 27, 2008

I have a comparison I wish to make
so please listen for your own sake

in Afghanistan a little boy is shot
in America a teen can't go shop

the boy's family is solemnly transparent
"it's not fair" cries the teen to the parent

a funeral is prepared for the young boy
the teen runs up to her room and destroys

the boy's killers are never found
the teen makes a pouting sound

finally, the boy is a stark reminder of a tragic event
and the teen gets her wish down to the very cent

so who is more deserving? the teen? or the boy?
prosperity walks a line with doom, all is a ploy

AFTERWARD:

while the boy is in a grave his memory builds hope
the teen dies of over dosing on too much dope
