best friend
your words are filled with empty promises
a void completely filled with nothingness
it's a bunch of meaningless words
one's you continue to feed me on a daily basis
almost like the much needed fix of a junkie
and i take it all deep within me
holding it dear to my fragile heart
acting like it's the world's greatest treasure
like it all has some meaning hidden within
one where i mean sometihng to you
i want to be more than your invisible support
that person who is your silent cheerleader
your solid rock when your world is rocky
why can't i be more than your best friend
can't you see that i'm right before your eyes
nobody can't be that blind, that oblivious
i wish for once you would notice me
i could turn from that ugly duckling to a swan
be that girl that gives you hearts in your eyes
making your heart skip a beat from my smile
why can't that ever happen to us
have we've been friends far too long
was i too dependable, reliable, too there?
i think so, i think i missed my chance....
