You Can't Save Me

you fill the room with your sublime light
you think you cure anger and even spite

to others you simply are a spark of fire
but you cannot bring all out of the mire

your great presence challenges all darkness
but you cannot save me from my starkness

not everything can be cured, I'm proof of that
so excuse me if I don't put out the welcome mat

you appear to me because you think you can save me
it's too late though, darkness is the only thing I see

you gave it a try but sometimes light is shut out
