Wolf Father

by PHOEBIX   May 27, 2008

Wolf father
Attending cubs
They gambol and tug
Playing rough

Patient father
No scolding growl
They are babes
Of the hunting fold

Pups at play
They nip and yelp
Father nudges one
With paw and lip

Future of the pack
The children play
Rough and tumble
During heat of day

Father feels teeth
Tiny pricks on his ear
Endures the pain
Of youth’s explores

Endure their antics
Cubs are the future
Keep them safe
Wolf pack’s treasure

Soon all grown
These pups will be
To join the group
Running free
