Miss Understood

Best of intentions
Miss Understood
Gave me direction
When she could

Always the martyr
For those that discard her...

I want her to know
As the years come and go
That she'll always be here in my heart
Words of love never heard
Wrought the pain she endured
Carving valleys that kept us apart...
Miss Understood

Under her wing, always safe we would cling
Knowing she'd fight the battles we'd bring
No I told ya so's and more yes's than no's
She would cry
so
we could laugh...

Mistakes she corrected
I must reconcile
In 'hind sight, reflected
Made a man of this child

Always a shoulder
It's time that I told her

Words of love she should hear
I now shout loud and clear
O'er the valleys that keep us apart
I want her to know
As the the tears start to flow
That I wish we could have a new start
Miss Understood

This song I wrote as an apology to my Mom...she raised 6 boys by herself and we were rotten. I love you Ma.
My upcoming music CD has this song on it.
