Once Upon False Paradise

by Analiese   May 29, 2004

Once upon 6 months gone by
She found herself in doubt
To take the cuts and bruises in
Or leave and just get out

He steals the light within her eyes,
The sparkle from her smile
The love he gives will not do much
But lend her for a while

She does anything that's possible
To shine within his eyes
What she doesn't know is all he says
Are secrets kept and lies

Once upon 8 months gone by
She found herself in pain
Her boyfriend's never there for her
He shows naught but disdain

The cuts and bruises have turned to blood
The truth exposed the lies
For the past 8 months that have gone by
She's suffered as her heart just dies

Did he know that as he looked at her
He stabbed her with his stare?
Did he know that as he held her close
He drowned her in despair?

He choked her with all his false love
He suffocated her with lies
He blinded her by his ungrateful touch
And now all she does is cries

Once upon a year gone by
She found herself alone
So skinny and so overly abused
It would chill you to the bone

Lying in a bed
In a hospital wing
She endured the pain
Her life is ruined by this thing

This thing that said he cared for her
This thing she thought she knew
This thing, this man, this monster
That kept he to abuse

12 months it took to realize
That she had to get out
12 months it took to escape the pain
And stomp out her foolish doubt

No more comforting
With stupid lies
No more loving look
Into her eyes

No more blood stains
On the rug and wall
No more of this-
No more at all

Once upon two years gone by
She found her life again
No more hurt and no more bloodied face
She’s better off with out him.
