Open Mind

by Indian Comma Bean   May 28, 2008

Let me think my thoughts,
Without having to read them in the headlines.
Let me see my world,
Without having to turn on the TV.

I want to live my life,
Without relying on the media.
For I am an outsider,
Only bound for nowhere.

Left in the dust,
But I see; With my eyes closed,
I still see, and I am educated
In the teachings of an idea.

I can tell you what the world
Will look like in a couple years,
And still be able to smile,
While I'm suppressed by worded fire.

So say your goodbyes,
Hug your mom tight,
Look your friends in the eyes,
And live; Open your mind.

    I love this poem,
speeks the truth, I love the part
"But I see; with my eyes closed"
I always tell myself the same thing.
Like, you don't have to look for something
with your eyes, just open up your heart.
Fantastic poem, I love every line, and I can
really relate to it, 5/5 no doubt!
