The tyranny of corrupted love

by Shalkan   May 28, 2008

Decomposing bodies in the wreckage of decay
beseeching the mighty avenger of our time
amidst the sultry nighttime thickness of defeat
the smell of blood haunts my nostrils, tickles my throat

until my ravaged senses seemingly forsake me
but i still feel your presence trickling down here
my arms reach out with the longing of my heart
but the body that i need is only an apparition

ghosts be warned if the path to damnation
lies only a stone's throw from my trail
but my feet don't stir in this house of stagnation
the epitome of putrescence gnaws at my ragged conscience

left bitter by the failure of my baffled romance ballad
waterlogged in an ocean of despair
unread and unwritten by the one I'm ordained to love
temptation longs to threaten this beaten, butchered mind

mutilated by the tyranny of corrupted love
caught in the periphery of your blinded vision
stuck where horizon and hemisphere collide
a bottle holds the sands of time in an sea of crimson rhythm

the stench of blood, of estranged organs
excoriated, mangled limbs
swims up the narrow canal of my nostrils
to awaken the memory of you in my brain
