Depression's Serenade

by adie   May 28, 2008

Some spend years wallowing in emotion
Scared, they are depressed with devotion
By choosing sorrow they forfeit to despair's crusade
Because decisions are what guide depression's serenade

Some become weary of psychological defeat
They muster up strength and will to compete
But without their action it proves a masquerade
Because actions are what guide depression's serenade

Remaining sad, some think they've learned the game
That without their actions things stay the same
But recovery is hard and some are still afraid
Because habits are what guide depression's serenade

Though fear is a factor, some continue strong
They realize they've had courage all along
Some channel that bravery and feel sadness fade
Because decisions are what guide depression's serenade

Depression's a serenade all right
It sucks you into darkness deader than night
A complicated matter of how you choose to deal
Is the only sure way to break depression's seal
