My uncle Bob, is an expert in social science of economics. He was preparing an 'Ideal Fodder Plan' for his cow. Every morning he used to gauge the forage. I could hear his measured call, "Jumbo! Your breakfast is ready, boy!" He told the feed was being reduced by ten percent per week. At the end of the third, I could hear him call, "Jumbo! Your lunch, dear." After six weeks, Jumbo would barely walk. "His consumption has lessened by near about fifty three percent. Yet he's alive. Kicking!" At the end of tenth, Jumbo hardly could moo. My uncle lamented in a Seminar: "How stupid can bovines be! They lose the battle when they learn to survive -on nothing."
