All I'm Asking For

by The Angel of Secrets   May 28, 2008

I catch myself staring at you, as you walk away,
Thinking of how you might have, could have brightened my day.
Wondering if you look for me when I'm not where you are,
If you'd look for me if and when I wander off too far.

I catch myself listening to your voice, as it speaks,
Thinking of, when you smile, you get dimples in your cheeks.
Wondering if you notice me when I stare for a stolen while,
If you search for ways to make a frown a shining smile.

I catch myself dreaming of you, when darkness comes with night,
Knowing if I think of you, there's no need for my fright.
Looking at the stars, wondering, do you think of me?
Do you like the way I am, what do you want me to be?

I catch myself making poetry in my mind, as I think of you,
It's messy and it's sticky, but I don't know what else to do.
I'm going insane, I wish I knew, I can't take it anymore,
A little glimpse, to catch you stare, is all I'm asking for.
