I see you in the halls
and you see me
we walk almost immediately
to each other.
I gaze at your face
its beauty I once embraced
but no longer can i because
we are just friends

we talk constantly
about times used to be
and how no longer they are
because just friends are we

I still long to hold you
to feel your warmth
i still want to be with you
but my luck ran short
we still say "I love you"
and give immense hugs
but i know they don't mean the same
because just friends
is how we remain
