Dear Future Me;
How does this world seem?
Is it all rainbows and butterflies,
or are people still bitter and mean?

Are you happy and healthy?
I hope you get past all this stuff..
Did you ever slip badly again?
I hope you found somebody to love.

Me in the future,
what is it like?
Do you still have horrid nightmares
that keep you up through the night?

I hope you grew pretty,
I hope your heart is a joy,
I hope that somebody needs you,
I hope you found love from a boy.

Do you remember me,
this little girl in your past?
Blonde hair and blue eyes,
and a broken heart made of glass?

Do you remember
what it felt like to bleed?
Do you remember
to not be somebody someone needs?

Do you recall what it was like
to be told you're amazing and not understand?
To be told you are beautiful,
but there isn't a boy's hand?

I hope you can remember,
that's a lie...I hope you forget.
Me in the future,
do you have a lot of regret?

Did you ever achieve your dreams,
or were you too blinded by the lights?
Did you get to travel the world
and see all the lovely sights?

Me in the future...
guess I won't know til I get there...

a promise that somebody will care.
