Dissipate

Driving at night
He remembers the dream
The girl, she stopped and kissed him
What did it mean?

Perplexed and in awe
Epitomized the emotion
So he committed this to memory
And continued going through the motions

Stopping at green lights
These thoughts reenter his mind
A peaceful lack of focus
An easy way to pass the time

Why did she have to kiss him
When a simple touch lifts him off the ground?!
The joy it overwhelmed him
Sent his head spinning round and round

So he activates the autopilot
And cranks the volume loud
He's slowly zoning out
Drowning in the sound

The lyrics are all he hears
While the music surrounds and fills the space
His thoughts slowly scatter
And everything dissipates

But these hopeful thoughts
Make him feel so dumb
Cause they're just fantasy created
By his imagination

And he's asleep at the wheel
While the stereo sings
He can't help that all he sees
Are happy endings.

You should watch the syllable counts in here.

    Actually,
Your rhyming seemed kind of forced.

    Okay.
I would have loved to see what that person was seeing while he was driving at night.

    For example, at the beginning,
    You could've mentioned
    The air, how it blows,
    Or something weird like that.

It would make it more realistic.

I thought the story was pretty good.
It made me smirk in an unlady like way.

    :p
