Where Did our Friendship Go?

by Emily Phillips   Jun 1, 2008

We were the best of friends
Always together
Laughing and smiling
Always there for each other
Sometimes we would have disagreements
But we knew friendship always had its mends
Never a moment went by that we weren't together
Teasing one another and whispering stuff to each other
One day, our friendship crumbled
You went your way
I went mine
You didn't know I still wanted you there
You stopped talking
While my heart kept breaking
We just kept walking farther and farther away until...
We drifted apart
Have we mended things?
Are we still friends?
Our awkward stares are too hard for me to look at
I remember the good times, old times
The times when we were friends
All the laughter and smiles, teasing comments
I would give anything to get that back
You were my best friend
You can't even imagine how much I cared about you
So one day, when maybe things are better
Maybe we will work things out
But I still can't help but wonder
Where did our friendship go?

This is an awsome poem. i dont know if anyone has ever said you are to young to understand "life" or not but you expressed losing a friend very well. whether your 15 or 42 like i am , losing a friend really hurts.
