Second Attention

I am the Universe,
galaxy's roam within me.
Swirling and explosive,
they shrink and grow,
change and hide,
immense and small
as to be incomprehensible.

I am the Universe,
beautiful and terrifying,
as hateful and pure as a newborn tear.
Burning and growing
I strive each moment to grasp
myself in my hands,
in my heart.

I am the Universe.
Past, present and future encapsulate me.
I remember and weep for the death of a planet
my eyes have never seen,
for the child who sleeps hungry,
for the grandmother who dies alone and afraid.

I am the Universe.
My cells implode with joy as a star is born.
Deep within me new life is created,
a soul sheds hate and brings forgiveness.
Every tear cried gathers like an ocean within me.
So I am not alone,
I am the Universe.
And I am here.
