Oblivion

by Shalkan   Jun 1, 2008

I watch the hands on my clock throw daggers in my eyes
days into years, and years into lies
my mind stays sharp as my body slowly dies
my ears still work, though yours are deaf to my cries

trippingly dodging everything you see
if vision doesn't catch it, it must be obsolete
but my ship's still there, at the bottom of the sea
and you boldly play chicken, with everything but me

the cruel sun kisses me, my poisoned skin rips
the same way your hungry teeth tore the flesh from my lips
and the same bloody river runs down my burning hips
thirst for my love is not satiated by your hurried sips

and the numbers glide by, into oblivion we fly
the sultry sensuous gaze leaves your bloodshot eyes
i cling to you, for by my love i must lie
still the hungry haunting look in your eyes doesn't die
