Yellow Wishes

by David ODonnell   Jun 2, 2008

You know that heaven only wants you cause youve been blessed,
Youve had a life of solitude, now you can rest.
But its hard to say youre sorry when youre depressed,
And its hard to go to work, in a hornets nest

So you question everything that youve been told,
When you try to take a step in the big brave world.
But you cant do everything cause youre getting old,
And now I lay you down to rest with your arms unfurled.

(This was written for a friend who lost her mother)
