Call Me When You're Sober

by Jenni Marie   Jun 2, 2008

It's just a normal night, another drunken fight
More harsh words exchanged, furniture rearranged
Spite gleaming in your eyes, so tired of all your lies
Trying to avoid your blows, as I'm thrown to the floor

Empty bottles scattered, this heart finally shattered
Can smell it on your breath, your face as cold as death
What a monster you've become, insides must be numb
Claiming that you love me, yet you refuse to set me free

Smashing everything in sight, how has this become our life?
Used to be so happy and close, now feel in pain I'll overdose
No longer recognize who you are, you're another fallen star
Promised me always and forever, now can't see us together

If only you'd listen and wise up, instead of blaming bad luck
Have all the help you'd ever need, but you're overtaken with greed
Thought we'd manage but now full of doubt, can't see no way out
Left me so utterly forlorn and blue, guess alcohol's finally destroyed you
