My Heart Won't Live

by Timothy   Jun 3, 2008

First Verse:
Sitting here watching you, knowing there's nothing I can do,
I knew you when you were so vibrant, and standing tall;
Wishing I could find the words, a magic spell I once knew;
But the energy has left the words, and you don't heed my call....

Chorus:
I didn't want to go, when you made it clear,
But you deserved so much more, than what I was willing to give;
I think I finally understand now, and I know what I fear,
If you go away now, my heart won't live.

I think I finally understand now, what a price I paid,
The days have gone dark, and your kiss remains captive;
Gawd, I want to turn back the clock, let the last song be played,
Because my soul is trapped in the melody, and my heart won't live.

Second Verse:

Sitting here praying for you, what else can I do,
I don't know if that's what you want, but I can't do it on my own;
I have been gone a year, and haven't seen what you've been through,
But your husband is here, and I have see his love has grown....

Repeat Chorus:
I didn't want to go, when you made it clear,
But you deserved so much more, than what I was willing to give;
I think I finally understand now, and I know what I fear,
If you go away now, my heart won't live.

I think I finally understand now, what a price I paid,
The days have gone dark, and your kiss remains captive;
Gawd, I want to turn back the clock, let the last song be played,
Because my soul is trapped in the melody, and my heart won't live.
