Traveller's Joys

by maida   Jun 3, 2008

Sweet to the morning traveller
The song amid the sky
Where, twinkling into the dewy light
The skylark soars on high.

And cheering to the traveller
The gales that round him play
When faint and heavily he drags
Alone his noontide way.

And when beneath the unclosed sun
Full wearily toils he
The flowing water makes to him
A pleasant melody

An when the evening light is gone
And all is calm around
There is sweet music to his ear
In the distant sheep-bells sound.

This poem is by Robert Southey. Once again, not by Maida. I'm sorry kid, unless I find one I don't recognize, and probably not even then, I'm not going to nominate you for anything. Be original, or at least cite where you got the poetry.
