Underneath the sweet Magnolia tree

by Ingrid   Jun 3, 2008

Underneath the sweet Magnolia tree
is where I always pictured you and me
Two people close together, lost in love
For so long now this was all I could think of.

To imagine us together brought a smile to my face
Two strong bodies locked forever in a perfect embrace
To have you as my lover just felt so right
I never imagined you would give in without a fight.

Underneath the sweet Magnolia tree
I hide from the world in order to feel free
Laying myself to rest ,crying bitter tears
Left alone empty handed with all my doubts and fears.

A broken heart beyond repair is what you left me
We could have had it all, but you were to blind to see
So now we will just go our separate ways,
with dreams of what could have been to fill our lonely days.

Ingrid, I really deeply felt this piece, the heartache, I know these feelings are very real, I can feel them, you've penned this as though it just flowed all out, heartfelt painful truth expressed.
I very much like the nice clear rhyming, suited this piece well with the rhythm.
Awesome piece Ingrid, big hugs to you
